Dans Les Bois Pinot Noir

Rochford Dans Les Bois Pinot Noir comes from the Swallowfield Vineyard in Gembrook, sheltered on all sides by natural forest. Dans le bois means 'in the woods' in French.

The vineyard is one of the southernmost sites in the Yarra Valley. Situated on a granite outcrop, quartz rich soils are ideal for Pinot Noir.

The fruit is handpicked and sorted. A mix of destemmed and whole bunch fruit sees a short cold soak. Both primary and malolactic fermentation occur naturally.

The wine is pressed to new and seasoned French oak barrels for 10 months of maturation. It is racked off lees just prior to bottling and is neither fined nor filtered.

Pale garnet, Rochford Dans Les Bois Pinot Noir's dense red and dark fruit flavours combine with earthy notes and long silky tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
